BUS 310 Assignment 2: New Hires

Select at least five (5) places you would recruit for a customer service assistant and at least five (5) places you would recruit for production line workers.

As a HR manager at a company, there are several places that I should know of that can be resourceful when it comes to employee recruitment. The most important is to make sure that I have the right workforce that can deliver the results in terms of performance. The bottom-line is ensuring that all the people hired are experienced in their respective areas. The two who will be working on the production line should have had previous in manufacturing industry and the one working at the front desk should have experience in customer relations (Ashly, 2007). The job vacancies can be advertised and successful applicants are shortlisted for scheduled interviews. I can also use modern methods like online services (LinkedIn). I can also consider job fairs where I can meet several people. Staffing companies can also be consulted if they have what the company could be looking for. Other places include colleges and universities as well as employment offices.

Explain why each place you selected would be a viable option for recruiting employees.

The benefit of using an online service like (LinkedIn) is easier and faster. It also saves a lot of time. Many people have their profiles on the website and it is easy short listing them based on their portfolio. Universities are also resourceful, and one can be narrow down to a specific school where staff might be needed. It is also a place where one can easily get young energetic individuals that are ready and willing to learn. Staffing offices can also be resourceful because they have many C.Vs and resumes that the employee might look at. The employer can also advertise vacancies using this platform. The same applies for the unemployment office. The benefit of this office is the fact that there are many experienced people who might have lost their jobs but still of benefit to the company (David, 2015). Lastly, job fairs are always the best because the employer is exposed to a lot of talents, knowledge and skills.
